The Gospel Broadcasting Network

The Gospel Broadcasting Network (GBN) is set to go online just a few days from now, on November 26, the Saturday following Thanksgiving. GBN is a commercial-free television network that will broadcast the truth and nothing but the truth 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It will feature programs produced by the churches of Christ. There will be gospel preaching, of course, but also documentaries on the Restoration Movement, children's programming, news commentary, and home Bible study resources. The network will be supported by free will contributions and will never solicit donations from its viewers. It is under the oversight of the Highland church of Christ in Dalton, Georgia.

At first, only those with the private large dish satellite receivers or Ku dishes fixed on GBN coordinates will be able to watch the network. However, GBN representatives are already saying the network will be carried by several cable providers. Those interested in viewing it in their homes should call their local cable provider and ask if they will be carrying GBN. If the answer is no, they should request that the network be carried in their area. In addition, the GBN website will feature a continuous stream that can be watched online.

GBN is staffed with talented, hard-working individuals who want to use television as an effective means for spreading the gospel. An impressive programming schedule is planned. The only thing that will limit these efforts is insufficient funding. If you are not contributing in some way to this ambitious work, make plans to do so. The seeds you sow will reap great rewards (2 Cor. 9:6-7).
