A great deal of story-telling is packed into Esther 5-7. Haman secretly sets a plot against Mordecai. Esther risks her life for the sake of her people. Mordecai is honored personally by the king as a result of Haman's pride. Esther reveals Haman's plan to wipe the Jews (in the presence both Haman and the king).
