Can the Bible Be Understood?
OPENING THOUGHT
In recent years the phrase, “speak your truth,” has become one that is used by many. It has confused a lot of people and warped our understanding of what truth is. “Your truth” is the understanding that each of us observes, our version of the events. But is “your truth” the truth we should be seeking?
In courts, we still seek “the truth.” We seek the facts, we seek to know what actually happened, so that we can make a judgment on those truths. When it comes to our spiritual lives, we need to do the same thing. We need to seek out the facts to make a real judgment, not base things off our own perspectives and feelings. So what does God’s word have to say about seeking truth? Can we know the truth?
