Open Home Meetings

After a wonderful summer of Sunday evening worship services, we are returning to our open home meeting schedule in September. We began the open home meeting ministry a few years ago for two reasons: to make more contacts for evangelism and to strengthen our members spiritually through fellowship and Bible discussion.

We have had good participation in the open home meetings, but because they are very demanding we took a break for the summer to reset and evaluate the program. During the break, the elders decided to adjust the schedule to include more Sunday evening worship services.

Here's the plan:

·         We will have open home meetings on second and fourth Sunday nights in September - November.

·         We will meet every Sunday night for worship at 5:00 PM on Sunday nights in December – February.

·         We will resume open home meetings on second and fourth Sunday nights in March – May.

·         Finally, we will take another break from open home meetings to meet every Sunday night during the summer months of June – August.

Not only does this schedule give us opportunities to have more worship services on Sunday nights, but it also helps us deal with the problem of trying to organize meetings during the holiday months when our members are traveling.

One problem we noticed in the last round of meetings was that some of our members had a difficult time finding the home where their group was meeting for the week. If you have a difficult time driving long distances or finding a particular house, feel free to attend any meeting you wish. Maybe there is another meeting nearby in a more familiar area. The important thing is to get together with Christians, study God's word, strengthen one another, and introduce lost souls to the gospel.

Stay tuned for new group assignments and an announcement about this fall’s theme. Thank you so much for your cooperation as we work hard to share Christ in our community!
